I think an example of a modern Macbeth could be Donald Tump. Donald Trump is similar and different than Macbeth in multiple ways. For example he is the same because they were both successful normal citizens but both had to go through different and challenging hardships to get to where they wanted to be. These people both did anything they could to get to the top with a desire of power. For example in Macbeth, Macbeth had multiple people killed including the nice king, innocent families, and a father and son because they stood in his way. On the other hand there were scandals of Russian rigging the election so that Trump would win.
There are also differences between the two as well. On the Donald Trump side Trump had to work to get his position like going to school and going against other candidates to be elected as president. But unlike Trump, for Macbeth everything kind of fell into his lap. He was given an award then told he’d be king, all he had to do was kill the king and hide his evil deeds from everyone else. Another difference is that Macbeth’s fate was told to him and he knew what was coming for him even if sometimes he didn’t get it. And in the end Macbeth got killed and his ruling ended, unlike Tump where he is still in office being the president of the United States.
